Fatted Calf and Red Sox

Fenway Park, Red Sox and the Fatted Calf go hand in hand for me. Back in the early to mid 70's, my Dad used to take us to Red Sox games.  I remember one in particular that started with a trip to the Fatted Calf next to Fenway park.  I still remember the wonderful smell of burgers on the grill, the texture of the cheese as it was scooped out with that little ice-cream scoop thingy and then the smell of it as it slowly melted.  Once having a seat, my 11, or 12 year old hands couldn't figure out how to pick it up and eat it...but I did.  It was, and is the best burger I have ever eaten.  Oh, btw, the Sox won in the 12th inning...Tiant was pitching for the Sox, McNally for the Orioles...Boog Powell of the Orioles hit 3 huge blasts off the top of the Green Monster and Tommy Harper won it with a homer over the Monster.  I think that was one of my fondest memories ever between my Dad and I...oh, and my brother too.  Wish there was some way that I could taste one of those in NC where I live now.  Have to travel to St Louis I guess.  Thanks for the memories
